The Speaker, Anambra House of Assembly, Mrs Rita Maduagwu, has wished Christians in Nigeria to reflect on their lives during the Easter period.
Maduagwu who made the call in her Easter message in Awka on Friday, said Christians should endeavor to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ
She said that Easter celebrations offered Christians the opportunity to ascertain whether their lives were in tune with the faith they professed. According to her, Christians are expected to tackle corruption and other social vices in society like Christ did.
She enjoined them to show love to their fellow Nigerians especially the less privileged during the period. Maduagwu further advised political office holders to take a cue from the selflessness and sacrificial nature of Jesus Christ.
The speaker said that political office holders should ensure that all their activities were guided by their love for peace and progress of the country, irrespective of their political differences.
